The Government Inspector Accepted to Chicago Film Frenzy
We’re proud to share that The Government Inspector, a short film from Behind The Rock Productions, has officially been accepted to Chicago Film Frenzy. The film will screen on March 29 from 5:30–7:30 PM, and we’re excited to bring this work to a festival that champions independent film and emerging voices in Chicago.
The Government Inspector Screening Poster, Khelestakov drinks from a glass.
The Government Inspector is a sharp, satirical adaptation inspired by Nikolai Gogol’s classic play, reimagined through a contemporary independent film lens. Built around absurdity, social tension, and comedic pressure, the film uses humor to expose vanity, power, and the fragile systems people hide behind. It has been a rewarding project to develop, not just because of the story itself, but because of what it allows us to say through style, tone, and performance.
Being selected for Chicago Film Frenzy is meaningful to us because it places the film in front of a local audience that values bold storytelling and inventive filmmaking. As a Chicago film festival focused on independent cinema, the festival creates space for filmmakers to share work that is creative, risky, and rooted in distinct points of view. We’re grateful to be included in that lineup and proud to have The Government Inspector represented among this year’s selections.
For those looking for independent film screenings in Chicago, this will be a great chance to experience The Government Inspector on screen as part of a larger celebration of local and emerging filmmaking. We hope the screening offers audiences a film that is entertaining, visually engaging, and pointed in the way all good satire should be.
Thank you to Chicago Film Frenzy for the selection and support. We’re looking forward to the screening on March 29 and to sharing more soon about the film, the festival, and what comes next for Behind The Rock Productions.
